JLab Daybreak TKL is a wired magnetic gaming keyboard and the best tier in JLab's gaming lineup. Built for competitive players who need ultra-fast input response, deep per-key customization, and a compact form factor that doesn't sacrifice functionality, it combines an 8000Hz report rate with adjustable-actuation magnetic switches in an 80% TKL layout. Compatible with Windows and Mac.
Magnetic switches are the defining feature. Unlike traditional mechanical switches, magnetic switches use a Hall effect sensor to detect keypress position rather than physical contact, which means no debounce delay, no wear from repeated actuation, and the ability to fine-tune the actuation point per key from 0.2mm to 3.6mm. Set keys at 0.2mm for hyper-fast repeated inputs on movement keys, or deeper for deliberate presses on ability keys — all configurable individually through The Lab app. Initial actuation force is 30±10gf, maximum is 50±10gf.
The 8000Hz report rate with 1ms latency means the keyboard sends its state to the PC up to 8 times per millisecond, producing a faster feedback loop than the standard 1000Hz found on most gaming peripherals. Full NKRO and 100% anti-ghosting ensure every simultaneous keypress registers correctly regardless of how many keys are held at once.
Snap Tap eliminates stuck or conflicting inputs by instantly overriding the older key when two opposing directional inputs are detected simultaneously. Rap Tap enables hyper-fast repeated actions and multi-command programming on a single key for macros and rapid-fire inputs.
The TKL (80%) form factor drops the numpad while keeping the function row, arrow cluster, and navigation keys — 93 keys total. A JLab Media Dial sits on the top right for instant volume and media control without leaving the home row. USB passthrough adds a port directly on the keyboard. The included palm rest, tilt legs, and detachable braided USB-C to A cable round out the setup.
Per-key RGB with full animations is configurable through The Lab app, which also handles 5 saved profiles, custom key remapping, shortcut programming, and Windows 11 Dynamic Lighting sync. PBT + PC keycaps with ABS metallic top cover.
